Thailand
Bangkok | Chang Mai | Phuket | Koh Samet
In 2012 my best friend and I decided to spend some time in Thailand trying to “find ourselves”. Our flight landed in downtown Bangkok at 2:00 AM and we hadn’t booked a thing. This lack of plan was intentional and all part of the excitement. Within no time we were in a taxi on our way to the nearest hotel. There we whipped out the travel guides and pamphlets we had gathered from the lobby. We began to create the master plan. We managed to cover everything from booking hotels, our flights, and even leisure activities such as visiting the Tiger Temple and local markets. We had every moment of everyday planned and paid for in advance. This left us with a huge feeling of relief and freedom. We had a place to sleep at night and someone on their way to pick us up in the morning. The trip was a huge success; we were able to cross everything off of our Thailand bucket list and we even managed to include daily shopping excursions. Needless to say I quickly had to learn how to be resourceful and think about every aspect and detail when planning.
United States of America
Florida | Michigan | West Virginia
I have traveled to the US every year since I was five years old. Between visiting family and exploring the vast fashion world they have to offer, it seems that there has always been a reason to travel there. I really enjoy experiencing new things and getting the chance to grow and expand my knowledge. The United States has a lot of great opportunities to offer and that is something I would love to further explore one day.
Europe
Italy | France | Vienna
The high school I attended offered a class trip over seas during our final year. I was very excited about the opportunity and worked extra hard to save up the funds necessary. I learned the value of a dollar at a young age. I understood what it meant to save and how good it felt to watch that savings grow. Having enough money available was rather large hurdle for me at the time and being able to fly to Europe was the perfect reward.
The entire trip lasted fourteen days. We traveled from city to city by bus and train and stopped to see every sight along the way. It was truly a wonderful and cultural experience. I will never forget how surreal it felt to be standing in front of the Eiffel Tour, the Mona Lisa, and the Chateau de Versailles. I was completely mesmerized and curious to learn more about our history. The entire trip felt like one long dream. Although that what nearly a decade ago now, experiences and lessons learned will stay with me forever.
